Do you ever ask the questions, “Why am I here right now experiencing this?” or  “What do I need to see and understand in this moment?”.  I ask these questions, especially after hard experiences, and sometimes I get answers.  I actively cultivate self compassion because I wouldn’t be able to cope with the insights. I hope you cultivate self compassion too because you can’t extend it to anyone else if you can’t extend it to yourself first.

As a child I remember waking from a dream and understanding that the world only exists for me when it came into my immediate focus. The ethers, the ground, the invisible would coalesce to become the world with my active perception.  That early understanding has filtered how I process everything.  I know the most meaningful part of life is largely invisible, ineffable, and our capacity to know it is limited.  The source of us is active, vital, truly alive, and sublimely beautiful.  We are all completely interconnected inherently, and reflect for each other like a house of mirrors.

My work focuses on the active ground, the life force, the area we habitually disregard as nothing.

I’m working in encaustic (hot wax) and also in oil with cold wax medium.

Currently I rent a studio at Running With Scissors Art Studios in Portland, Maine.  If you’d like to come by, meet me, and see my work in person,  I’d love that.  Contact via form below.
